Was erwartet dich?
- Du entwickelst und pflegst Linux-Kernel-Module und -Treiber, besonders im Bereich Virtualisierung (QEMU, KVM)
- Du entwirfst und setzt neue Kernel-Features und -Funktionen um, um Performance, Sicherheit und Zuverlässigkeit zu verbessern
- Du analysierst und löst gemeinsam mit dem Engineering-Team Kernel-Probleme und Bugs
- Du entwickelst und pflegst automatisierte Test-Frameworks, um Kernel-Stabilität und Funktionalität zu sichern
- Du analysierst die Kernel-Performance, findest Schwachstellen und optimierst gezielt; du arbeitest mit Upstream-Kernel-Communities zusammen, steuert Patches bei und beteiligst dich aktiv an der Weiterentwicklung
- Du bleibst immer auf dem neuesten Stand, was Kernel-Entwicklung und neue Technologien angeht, und lässt dieses Wissen in unser unternehmensinternes Portfolio einfließen

Was solltest du mitbringen?
- Du hast ein Studium in Informatik, Elektrotechnik oder einem ähnlichen Bereich (Bachelor oder Master) abgeschlossen
- Du hast mindestens 5 Jahre Erfahrung in der Linux-Kernel-Entwicklung, idealerweise mit Fokus auf Virtualisierung (QEMU, KVM)
- Du besitzt solides Wissen über Kernel-Interna wie Prozess-Scheduling, Speicherverwaltung und Gerätetreiber
- Du hast Erfahrung mit QEMU und KVM, inklusive der Entwicklung und dem Debugging von Kernel-Modulen im Virtualisierungsbereich
- Du bist sicher im Umgang mit Git und Versionskontrolle und hast starke Skills in C, plus Erfahrung mit Debugging-Tools wie gdb und crash
- Du verfügst über gute Kommunikations- und Teamfähigkeiten, kannst dich mit anderen abstimmen und gemeinsam Lösungen finden, und hast Erfahrung mit Kernel-Test-Frameworks wie kselftest oder LTP

I don't think I meet all the requirements. Can I still apply?
What do I have to consider if I am not from Germany?
Please make sure to provide all necessary documents within your Workwise profile. It should include an EU work-permit (if you have no EU citizenship) and a CV at least. Depending on the position you are applying to, you could also be asked for a certificate of enrollment, a transcript of records or a language certificate. We would also recommend to inform yourself thoroughly in advance about visa regulations. Therefore you can use the official visa navigator from the Federal Foreign Office.
