Linux System Engineer für eine Virtualisierungsplattform - Remote (w/m/d)
Was erwartet dich?
- Du betreust unsere Virtualisierung Plattform mit über 33000 VMs auf 1500+ Linux Servern in mehreren weltweit verteilten Rechenzentren und stellst deren hohe Verfügbarkeit sicher
- Du bist für die softwareseitige Betreuung unseres internen VI Portals zuständig, welches für die Orchestrierung der Controller (Ovirt, Vcenter) und Bestellung von VMs durch unsere internen Kund:innen eingesetzt wird
- Du analysierst Probleme, beseitigst Störungen und dokumentierst diese
- Du planst Konsolidierungs-, Migrations- und Erneuerungsprojekte und setzt diese IT-seitig um
- Du betreust das eigene Monitoringsystem für die Plattform, optimierst die Plattform anhand der Metriken, automatisierst manuelle Tasks und evaluierst neue Technologien.
- Du nimmst zusammen mit den Teamkolleg:innen an einer rotierenden 2nd Level Rufbereitschaft für die Virtualisierung Plattform teil.

Was solltest du mitbringen?
- Du hast fundierte Kenntnisse in der Administration von Linux Servern
- Du besitzt idealerweise Kenntnisse einer Linux-basierten Virtualisierungstechnologie (RHEV, Ovirt, KVM,o.ä.), sowie Praxiserfahrung in der Konzeption, dem Aufbau sowie dem Betrieb einer Virtualisierungsplattform
- Du verfügst über Know-how in Scriptsprachen wie Bash, Python, sowie in Automatisierungs- und Orchestrierungs-Tools (z. B. Puppet, Ansible)
- Du punktest im Idealfall mit grundlegenden Kenntnissen über NFS Speicherlösungen (z. B. Netapp), Netzwerke (Trunks), Prometheus, Grafana, Datenbanken (z. B. PostgreSQL)
- Du kennst dich mit Monitoring, Troubleshooting und Dokumentation aus
- Du hast gute Englischkenntnisse
- Du überzeugst mit einer strukturierten und selbstständige Arbeitsweise sowie Teamfähigkeit

I don't think I meet all the requirements. Can I still apply?
What do I have to consider if I am not from Germany?
Please make sure to provide all necessary documents within your Workwise profile. It should include an EU work-permit (if you have no EU citizenship) and a CV at least. Depending on the position you are applying to, you could also be asked for a certificate of enrollment, a transcript of records or a language certificate. We would also recommend to inform yourself thoroughly in advance about visa regulations. Therefore you can use the official visa navigator from the Federal Foreign Office.
