Senior Backend Developer (m/f/d)
What can you expect?
- You develop awesome backend applications in mainly Java 15 as well as other potential languages (like JavaScript and Go) for the infrastructure and network components
- You take part in all steps of building distributed systems - plan, develop, deploy and maintain event-sourced, microservices oriented systems
- You improve and further develop the current deployment pipeline (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and infrastructure (AWS CDK, CloudFormation)
- You maintain, monitor, and improve existing services, libraries, and infrastructure
- You write code and tests, build prototypes, solve issues, profile and analyze bottlenecks
- You focus on quality of code through proper testing and developer experience for other team members

What should you bring along?
- You have experience implementing or designing highload, event-sourced or event streaming systems, preferably within a healthtech, insurtech or fintech company
- You have strong experience developing modern Java applications and deploying them in public clouds with full awareness of the infrastructure behind
- You are fluent in testing strategies involving container environment
- You have a desire to document new ideas and complex flows with great detail level
- You possess a growth mindset; you continually challenge the status quo to find new solutions and out-of-the-box ideas
- You are fluent in English and you hold a valid working visa/permit for Germany

What do I have to consider if I am not from Germany?
Please make sure to provide all necessary documents within your Workwise profile. It should include an EU work-permit (if you have no EU citizenship) and a CV at least. Depending on the position you are applying to, you could also be asked for a certificate of enrollment, a transcript of records or a language certificate. We would also recommend to inform yourself thoroughly in advance about visa regulations. Therefore you can use the official visa navigator from the Federal Foreign Office.
